Context

As I continued working with the Polyglots (es_CR) team, I became more familiar with the WordPress translation workflow and the community guidelines. Compared to my first experience, I now feel more confident navigating the translation platform and understanding how localization works.

This stage of the project allowed me to apply what I had learned and improve the quality of my contributions.

Procedure

To strengthen my contribution, I:

• Continued exploring translation projects for Spanish (Costa Rica).
• Reviewed the glossary and translation guidelines before submitting suggestions.
• Compared my translations with existing approved strings to improve consistency.
• Carefully checked grammar, terminology, and context before submitting my work.

Challenges

As I gained more experience, I realized that consistency is one of the most important aspects of localization. Sometimes I had to reconsider my first translation choice after comparing it with other approved translations or reviewing the glossary.

This process taught me to pay closer attention to detail and think about the user’s experience instead of simply translating words.

What I Learned

I learned that every contribution, even a small one, helps improve WordPress for users in my language. I also became more comfortable using the translation platform and following the standards established by the Polyglots community.

Most importantly, I learned that quality contributions require patience, careful review, and a willingness to learn from feedback.

Reflection

Looking back at my progress, I can see how much I have learned since joining the WPCredits project. I started with very little knowledge about WordPress localization, and now I have a much better understanding of how contributors work together to improve translations.

This experience has increased my confidence and motivated me to continue contributing to open-source projects in the future.
